Wines of Uruguay

Tannat is the emblematic wine grape variety of Uruguay. It is from the south-west of France and named like that for its important quantity of tannins. Canelones is the largest wine producer region and where most of the vineyards are located too. However, Montevideo is the second most important region of Uruguay.
