Challenge International du Vin 2020
This year we had the opportunity for the fourth time to participate among the tasters of the 44th edition of the Challenge International du Vin held in the city of Bordeaux, France.
The Challenge International du Vin is the oldest of the great international wine competitions. The competition is dedicated to the tasting of red, rosé, dry white, sweet white, sparkling, VDN/VDL up to spirits without forgetting the organic wines. The participating wines are awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals according to the scores obtained in the tasting.
The competition was exceptionally held in two flights under strict tasting conditions and, of course, taking into account all the health measures to prevent the current situation of the pandemic.
Some important figures for this year: 3544 wines.
Participation from 34 different countries. 47% of the wines presented were foreign.
This year the country of honor is Moldova. A European country with a wine production along 114,000 hectares of vineyards and more than 30 varieties of grapes planted.
